Project Watershed's staff work on short-term contracts and the scope of their work changes depending on their program's current focus and funding. Here are the people who currently work at Project Watershed and their roles:

Steve Morgan

 

Business Manager for The Mapping Centre.

Steve has a B.Sc in biological sciences from California State University and is a certified Project Management Professional.  He has been managing projects for more than 20 years and has recently taught project management for the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Project Management Institute and at Royal Roads University.  Steve takes an active interest in the wetlands of Cumberland on Vancouver Island where he lives and has done volunteer GPS and GIS work for environmental groups on Vancouver Island.

Lauren LaBossiere

Estuary Coordinator

Lauren's dedication to environmental preservation stems from her lifestyle as an avid outdoorwoman. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Botany & Zoology, is a Leave No Trace Master Educator, a Paddle Canada Instructor, and a trained outdoor educator. She has recently joined Project Watershed as the Estuary Working Group Coordinator.

Kathryn Clouston

Volunteer Coordinator

Kathryn has been volunteering with streamkeeping groups since her retirement from the Air Force in 2007.  While doing this she also spent a few years at North Island College improving her knowledge of biological systems with an Associate of Science in Biology degree.

Michele Jones

Bookkeeper

Michele Jones

Michele has been working and teaching in the field for over 25 years.  She owns a small environmental consulting firm in Courtenay and is considered a vegetation ecologist.  Her company, Mimulus Biological Consultants, specializes in ecological and wildlife assessments.  She conducts Riparian Areas Regulation Assessments, as well as other environmental impact assessments.  However, her true love (or specialty) is wetlands and wet areas.  

She has had extensive experience throughout the province identifying ecosystems and has been training and auditing field crews provincially for over 15 years.  Michele instructs at North Island College in Courtenay and instructs several programs through Vancouver Island University.  In her spare time, she is a certified Streamkeepers and Wetlandkeepers instructor, as well as an instructor at the Wetlands Institute.  She is a board member (treasurer) for the Coastal Invasive Plant Committee as well as keeping the books at Project Watershed.
