GREAT CANADIAN SHORELINE CLEANUP (week of Sept, 17-25)
and B C RIVERS DAY ( Sunday, Sept 25
)
On September 25th, join us on land or river in 3 locations: Airpark, Simms Park and Port Augusta Park (St Josephs Hospital site) and between 10am and noon we will collect items that pollute the environment. We will then compare and tally “treasures” to see who has the most unusual find and the greatest volume. Come and have fun while making the Courtenay River Estuary cleaner for all species that live there.
Go online at http://shorelinecleanup.ca/en for more information and to register for the site of your choice. Contact Leader: Bill Heidrick t.w.h@shaw.ca for any further questions you may have.

HELP GPS TRAILS!
Project Watershed is looking for people to help GPS walking trails for our next map. Basic GPS knowledge would be an asset, however, we will be holding some training sessions to ensure that all data is collected using the same methods. If you have your own GPS unit that would also be helpful but we do have a few units to lend out. As a token of our appreciation for your time and energy volunteers will receive a copy of the map once it is complete. Please contact Caila Holbrook at maps.projectwatershed@gmail.com if you are interested.
