Description
September restoration events will focus on weeding, mulching, pruning, and preparing for October planting. Volunteers should come dressed for dirty work: long pants/sleeves, hat, and boots are recommended (please note: closed-toe shoes are required!). Events will go ahead if there is light rain; we will postpone in the event of heavy rains or lightening (rain jackets and layers are recommended!). We will have tools, gloves, water, and snacks for all volunteers! Participants should be comfortable stooping, bending, squatting, walking over uneven terrain or up and down slopes, and using sharp gardening tools like shovels and pruners. No experience necessary; these events are suitable for ages ~12+ (younger participants are allowed, but each child must be accompanied by a guardian at all times).
