Forage Fish Lead Biologist

Gwen is an ecologist with a deep appreciation for dynamic coastal ecosystems. She grew up along the North Coast of Germany, where her connection to the ocean and its rhythms first took root. Grateful for the opportunity to work in and learn from the coastal and marine environments around Vancouver Island for the past seven years, Gwen now calls the traditional territories of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ home.

With a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria, Gwen brings diverse experiences in environmental education, ecosystem monitoring and restoration, and project management. She finds constant inspiration in the resilience and richness of coastal environments and the communities that flourish alongside them. Passionate about making a difference, Gwen is dedicated to imagining and building healthy ecosystems that support both people and nature.
