Board Openings at Project Watershed
Comox Valley Project Watershed Society is welcoming expressions of interest to join our volunteer Board of Directors
Project Watershed’s Mission: Ecological restoration, research and education for our collective future.
We are recruiting directors who share our vision for a resilient coastal ecosystem and our values of reconciliation, partnership, and inclusivity.
As an environmental not-for-profit with highly qualified staff to carry out our mission, Board directors volunteer about 5 hours per month including a monthly meeting and preparation time. Board directors are active in advisory and governance roles surrounding our projects, events, grant writing, fundraising, networking with funders and liaising with governments of all levels including the K’ómoks First Nation. Directors will also contribute to sub-committees and working groups.
About Project Watershed
Project Watershed is a team of scientists, educators, stewardship staff, contractors, and volunteers. We believe that community-engaged science can further stewardship of Comox Valley’s sensitive ecosystems and help us create an inclusive and thriving environment for our future communities. Since 1993 we have been working in partnership with scientists, First Nations, communities, all levels of government, and other NGOs to carry out our mission of restoring and conserving freshwater and coastal ecosystems from Oyster River to Deep Bay. Through our work, Project Watershed contributes approximately $1.5 million directly to the Comox Valley economy annually.
For more information about our team and projects please see www.projectwatershed.ca/about or read our 2024 Impact Report.
