Description

We’re looking for volunteers to help prepare eelgrass shoots for transplant as part of our upcoming restoration work near Ships Point. Volunteers will work in shifts, attaching metal washers to eelgrass shoots that have been harvested by our dive team. These washers serve as temporary anchors, helping the shoots establish in the seabed before naturally rusting away.

Volunteer shifts will begin at 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM at the Deep Bay Marina. We encourage volunteers to carpool if possible.

We’ll have a shade tent and some folding chairs available on-site, but if you have your own chair, please bring it along in case we run short. Be sure to dress for the weather—including hats, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, and extra layers.
