2023 Dinner ~ L. Stewart
We are very excited to host our 2025 Keeping It Living Dinner at 40 KNOTS Winery on September 13th to support the completion of the Kus-kus-sum Project. We hope you can join us from 5 pm – 8 pm, as we enjoy food, wine and music from the Comox Valley while celebrating ecological restoration, research and education in our community.
In addition to celebrating last year’s achievements, we will provide the latest news on the completion of the Kus-kus-sum Project, the timeframe for the steel wall removal and our final fundraising needs for this iconic project. Lush Valley Catering will provide a delicious dinner prepared from locally sourced, ecologically sustainable ingredients. Dinner will be followed by a raspberry pannacotta dessert made by Chef Stephanie Noel of Cheffanie.
We would like to thank Brenda and Layne Craig, owners of 40 KNOTS, for their support of this event and the cheque they present us from the annual sales of Safe Haven wine. We are grateful for their generosity and continued support. We are also grateful for the other sponsors who are making this event possible: Rob Wolfe at Odlum Brown, Jeremy Anderson at the Old House Notary, and Pieter Vorster at Pod Creative.
In addition to delectable food and music, we will also hold a 50/50 draw and a mystery auction. More details on these activities to follow.
Tickets for the event are $120 per person until September 1st, and $140 thereafter. Tickets include a four-course dinner and paired drinks – there will be vegan and non-alcoholic options. This year we will be dining at long harvest tables which seat eight, please include the names of other guests you would like to sit with when purchasing a ticket.

Lush Valley Catering
Social Enterprise of Lush Valley Food Action Society
The catering arm of Lush Valley is a collaboration between local farmers and chef James McKerricher to bring creative and vibrant food to events. We use local produce to create menus that are fun, approachable, delicious, and distinctly of the Comox Valley.
Our mission is to rethink the role of the restaurant in promoting local food security. To accomplish that goal we’ve created a nimble and responsive kitchen that is designed to work with the variations and fluctuations of a small-scale local food system. We strive to transform the bounty of the Comox Valley into menus that tell a story about our community—the crops that grow here and the folks that grow them. Our hope is that local farmers will see their efforts and motivations reflected in the menu and sourcing policies.
