Keeping It Living Dinner 2025: A Night of Community and Generosity
Last Saturday, the Comox Valley came together for the Keeping It Living Dinner 2025 in support of Kus-kus-sum, an evening that exceeded expectations in spirit, attendance, and impact. The event was sold out—and for good reason. Between the delicious food, warm company, and generous hearts of donors, it was a night to remember.
From the moment guests arrived, there was an undeniable energy. The event brought together supporters, longtime champions, partners, and newcomers alike—all united by care for this land and its stewardship.
Though final numbers are still being tabulated, we are thrilled to share that the evening raised over $10,000. That figure reflects not just the price of tickets, but also 50/50 raffle, online auction, and other contributions. Guests had fun puzzling out the mystery boxes in the auction and engaged in a few creative friendly bidding wars that translated into support for the fundraiser.
Long time supporter Rob Wolfe of Odlum Brown sponsored the event along with the Old House Notary, Pod Creative, and 40 KNOTS Winery. The Winery also donated $1,000 from the final sales of their 2016 Safe Haven Port.
Project Watershed thanks Lush Valley for the locally-sourced, ecologically-sound dinner, Cheffanie for the desserts, and Oscar Robles for providing ambient guitar music for this event. We would also like to thank:
-
- All who purchased tickets and showed up with kindness
- Those who participated in the raffle and auction
- Local businesses who donated items, time, or resources
- The volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly
- All who purchased tickets and showed up with kindness
We couldn’t have done it without you!
Though the Keeping It Living Dinner has come and gone, the work continues. We are still accepting donations to complete the Kus-kus-sum Project. At the dinner it was announced that we are still short to complete the wall removal and are continuing to look for funds to close that gap. Donate now!
In October, we will be hosting the final planting events associated with Kus-kus-sum. These will be our last major plantings in the restoration area, and we’d love to see as many hands in the soil as possible. Sign up to volunteer!
Last Saturday reminded us that together, we can keep it living. Thank you, once again, for being part of this journey. We are deeply grateful, and energized, for what comes next!
