Date and Time

September 27, 2022, 9 am

Location

Courtenay Marina - Lagoon Drive

Description

The plants at the Airpark and Kus-kus-sum need to be watered, mulched and weeded. We have a water tank with a hose that gets pulled on a trailer to do the watering and shovels and other tools for weeding, which at the Airpark includes invasive species removal. Volunteers should be physically fit enough for all tasks – watering, weeding and mulching. The group of people who volunteer together will determine how best to allocate tasks.

Weeding and watering occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will continue on this schedule each week until it starts raining. We would appreciate it if volunteers could sign up for one or more of these days for the remainder of our watering season. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 am at the Park Café near the Courtenay Airpark where the tank gets filled and picked up. The location that will be watered (Airpark or Kus-kus-sum) will be decided at the time. The group will water from 9 am until all the plants at the location are watered which is usually around noon. If people need to leave early some days that can be accommodated.
