Working with the K’ómoks Nation towards Q’waq’wala7owkw on their unceded territory.

Date and Time: September 22, 2022, 9 am

Location: Courtenay Marina Courtenay Lagoon Drive

Description:

Until it starts raining again the plants at the Airpark and Kus-kus-sum need to be watered. We have a water tank with a hose that gets pulled on a trailer to do the watering. While watering is our primary task, there is also weeding and mulching at both locations. Volunteers should be physical fit enough for all tasks – watering, weeding and mulching. The group of people that volunteer together will determine how best to allocate tasks.

Watering occurs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will continue on this schedule each week until it starts raining. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 am at the Park Café near the Courtenay Airpark where the tank gets filled and picked up. The location that will be watered (Airpark or Kus-kus-sum) will be decided at the time. The group will water from 9 am until all the plants at the location are watered which is usually around noon. If people need to leave early some days that can be accommodated.

Volunteer Sign Up: *The number of volunteers spaces remaining vs the maximum spaces allotted is in brackets at the end of each task you can sign up for. For example 2 volunteer spaces remaining out of 5 maximum appears like this (2/5)

There are no tasks to sign up for right now
