With another successful year of activity behind us we look forward to our stewardship endeavors for 2017. Funding for the fish habitat enhancement project in Simms Millennium Park has been secured which involves the reworking of an off-channel habitat area for fish within a tidally influenced section of the Courtenay River. We continue to move ahead in a positive direction with our plans for the Kus Kus Sum site (decommissioned sawmill off Comox Road) and are hard at work on an estuary signage project and education initiative.
Our 2016 accomplishments and 2017 goals are made possible by your community support. Your ongoing support is key to Project Watershed’s mission and environmental stewardship in the Comox Valley. Not only do membership funds help finance the work we do, membership itself is a strong message to Project Watershed, funders and others about how you value diverse ecosystems, ecological restoration, healthy habitats, and protecting the K’omoks Estuary.
We thank you for your past stewardship contributions and kindly ask for you to take some time today to renew your membership or become a member if you are not already.
