The final Watershed Protection Plan for Comox Lake was presented to the Comox Valley water committee on April 12, 2016 and has now been uploaded to the Comox Valley Regional District‘s website on the Watershed Protection page. The plan was accepted by their committee with the exception of water metering requirements with were not included after a strong push back from the Mayor of Courtenay.  The plan points the way forward for us to care for our drinking watershed.
The Comox Valley Conservation Strategy (CVCS) was the only ENGO invited to be at the Watershed Advisory Group (WAG) table.  Bill Heidrick, Project Watershed’s representative at the CVCS, participated as David Stapley’s alternate for the CVCS.
