Kiyoshi Kosky, one of the four candidates in the running for the BCNDP nomination in the new Courtenay-Comox riding, will be holding a fundraising evening on January 5 at the White Whale restaurant.
There will be live original music for your enjoyment, courtesy of saxophonist David Blinzinger and Sachika – a singer/songwriter with a passionate and richly diverse range of musical styles including Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B, Rock/Pop and New Country.
There is no cover charge, but there will be many opportunities to donate, including a silent auction with (very gift-able!) items from local artists and businesses. All proceeds from the evening will go towards RAVEN Trust, Comox Valley Project Watershed society, and Tide Change Comox Valley.
RAVEN Trust is a BC-based organization whose mission is to raise legal defence funds to assist First Nations in protecting their traditional lands under the constitution; Tide Change is a local non-profit organization that connects local community groups by showcasing their events and news stories; and the Project Watershed Society promotes stewardship of the Comox Valley’s watersheds through education, information, and action.
The event will be held from 6-9pm. Come out, meet Kiyoshi, enjoy the music and White Whale’s delicious menu, and buy a pint to raise your glass to the beautiful place we live in!
