Saturday September 23rd

We had a booth at Mountain Avian Rescue Society’s Open House on Saturday. The weather was excellent and the event was well attended. Bill Heidrick commented “Kath and I had the first shift and we went steady for 3 hours as there was lots of interest. We took in around $300 for the day and got several memberships, volunteers, etc…”

Sunday September 24th

On Sunday we hosted a Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup at Simms Millennium Park. 10 participants lent a helping hand and we removed 25 kilos of refuse. Once again this year we found many dog poop bags that had been thrown in the bush instead of in the onsite garbage facilities. However, we didn’t find any needles this year so that was a plus.
