Forage Fish Project Needs Volunteers

While many citizen science groups have begun conducting spring/summer forage fish spawning surveys, we still need a few more volunteers to cover some of the beaches in our area. Specifically we need volunteers for Quadra Island and Campbell River.

Volunteers will receive training and equipment. Volunteers also get to spend some purposeful time on the beach in small groups – we have established physical distancing and enhanced sanitation measures to keep everyone safe. Understanding where and when these important forage species can spawn helps us better protect and restore their sensitive spawning habitat.
