Kathy Haigh

Past Chair

Kathy moved to the Comox Valley in 2015 from Alberta. She is a born-again British Colombian now and also considers herself a late-blooming environmentalist. 

The outdoors figure greatly in Kathy’s activities. She especially enjoys gardening, kayaking, cycling and walking the beautiful local forest and seaside trails and beaches. A life-long learner, Kathy also likes to travel and has an interest in other cultures and environments. 

Kathy’s education includes a Human Resources – Business Administration Diploma from Mount Royal College and a BA in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary. She has been employed in business and customer service roles including Wardair, Alberta Liquor Control Board, a small HR consulting firm and as a private school office manager. The majority of her work has been charitable volunteering. During numerous community, support and service group projects Kathy has enhanced her volunteer management, communications, leadership and organizational skills. 

She joined the Project Watershed Board of Directors in 2016 as the director of Fundraising and Outreach after volunteering with some PW community events. Kathy then served as Board Chair from November 2021 until June 2024.

Kathy is passionate about the environment and adheres to the old adage “Think globally, act locally.” Project Watershed’s local action-oriented values really speak to her.
