Airpark Plant Maintenance

Volunteers working at Glen Urquhart ~ L. Stewart

Map of Location

Courtenay Airpark

Comox Bay Farm

Date and Time

Every Thursday morning from May to October

Location

Courtenay Airpark

Description

The plants at the Airpark need to be watered, mulched and weeded. We have a water tank with a hose that gets pulled on a trailer to do the watering and shovels and other tools for weeding, which at the Airpark includes invasive species removal. Volunteers should be physically fit enough for all tasks – watering, weeding and mulching. The group of people who volunteer together will determine how best to allocate tasks.

The group will meet every Thursday and will continue on this schedule each week until it starts raining. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 am at the Park Café near the Courtenay Airpark. The group will work from 9 am until about noon, however, individuals can leave earlier if they wish.

Please wear sturdy shoes with high ankles. Bring water and snacks and your favourite gardening gloves.
