Description

Hedgerow planting: we will be planting a hedgerow in the Glen Urquhart Creek area to support bird habitat complexity, enhance biodiversity and all the other benefits that come with planting native species.

Garry Oak meadow planting: we will be planting camas bulbs and Garry Oaks into our pilot Garry Oak Meadow Area. The planting will be done within experimental site treatment blocks – be ready for some science!

Willow staking: we will be harvesting willow stakes for later installation at Comox Bay Farm. Heavy boots recommended!

Jay Baker-French will be leading these activities.

If you are going to volunteer, we ask that you dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle and gardening gloves (we will have plenty of gloves to borrow if you don’t have any or forget yours!) We also ask that pets of any kind, except service animals, are not brought onto the site.
