Fiesta Booth Volunteers Needed!
Project Watershed will have a booth at Fiesta Market on November 16 and 17. We are looking for volunteers to sell merchandise and take donations.
Planting Along the Riverway Walk
We will be planting native plants from 1 gallon pots in areas beside the Riverway Walk. Species will include Nootka rose, baldhip rose and common snowberry. Invasive species removal has been done in these areas and these plants should add native vegetation as well as help keep the invasives out.
Puntledge Hatchery Open House 2024
The Hatchery is having their annual Open House where you can get up close and personal with salmon returning up river from the ocean. We intend to have a booth at this event and need volunteers to help run it.
Fall and Winter Forage Fish Sampling
We’re gearing up for the fall/winter season of forage fish sampling!
Mallard Creek Riparian Planting
We will be planting native riparian species along a section of Mallard Creek that we recently cleared of invasive Reed canarygrass.
Fall Planting at Kus-kus-sum
We are looking for volunteers to assist us with planting native trees, shrubs, and marsh plants at Kus-kus-sum this fall!
Dyke Road Park Salt Marsh Planting
In partnership with the CVRD and the K’ómoks Guardians, we will be planting the newly prepared tidal marsh and surrounding area at Dyke Road Park as part of the park re-design project. We will be working the intertidal and riparian areas and planting native grasses, shrubs, and tidal marsh species.
Fall Work at Kus-kus-sum
We are looking for volunteers to assist us with weeding out invasive plants to make room for the native plants arriving later this fall!
Installing Sponsored Salmon on Kus-kus-sum Fence
We are looking for a few handy people to help install salmon signs that have been sponsored on the Kus-kus-sum fence.
Community Water Monitoring Training Sessions
