Description

We will be planting native riparian species along a section of Mallard Creek that we recently cleared of invasive Reed canarygrass. We are making our way upstream on Mallard Creek, opening up more and more rearing habitat for juvenile Coho and Cutthroat trout. Eventually we will get the stream back to a state where it can support its own runs of Coho, Chum, and Pink salmon, and Cutthroat trout. The creek also supports lamprey, northwestern salamanders, and rough-skinned newts.

We will also be installing some deer fencing and doing some willow staking, time permitting.

Please wear weather appropriate attire. Gumboots or good waterproof hiking/outdoor boots are required. Tools will be provided.

Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.
