Shoreline Cleanup

Date and Time: April 22, 2023,April 23, 2023
Location: Comox Valley Beaches,
Description:
We are once again participating in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup on April 22 and 23. We will do this as a decentralized cleanup, meaning that you and your group will pick a 1.5 to 2 km section of beach and hunt for garbage there and other groups will pick other sections. Here is a map of all the sections of beach that we hoping to cover.
  1. Sign up as a volunteer to participate, only one person from your group needs to sign up.
  2. Then we will send you detailed instructions, a data card, waiver and safety checklist. Please sign the digital version of the waiver prior to preforming the cleanup.
  3. Cleanup! In the morning of the day you chose, go to the beach you have registered to clean (most sections take 1 to 2 hours). Pick up and record garbage. When you are finished cleaning up the beach you can either drop off the garbage bags and sharps containers at Project Watershed’s offices at 2356a Rosewall Crescent, leave them in a marked bag at a drop off location or dispose of them appropriately.
Volunteer Sign Up:
* If there is no check box next to the task you are interested in then it is no longer available as others have already signed up. Please do choose an alternative task or email us to get on our wait list.

**The number of volunteers spaces remaining vs the maximum spaces allotted is in brackets at the end of each task you can sign up for. For example 2 volunteer spaces remaining out of 5 maximum appears like this (2/5).
