Streamkeepers Course October 25-27
Are you interested in learning more about the health of our local streams and creeks?
- Location: Lewis Centre, Tsolum Building, 489 Old Island Hwy, Courtenay, BC
- Hours: Friday 6:30 pm to 9:30pm, Saturday 9am to 4:30pm, Sunday 9am to 4:30pm
- Subjects covered: Modules 1 through 4. Participants will learn how to assess physical habitat, water quality and quantity and how to identify common aquatic insects. Upon successful completion of training a certificate is awarded to each participant.
- Cost: $100 per person + $35 if you want a take-home copy of the manual (there will be copies you can use during the course and it is available online)
We need 15 people to run the course and we will cancel if we don’t have enough registrants by the afternoon of Friday October 11.

PSL – a Pumpkin Spice Latté or a Pacific sand lance? To some people, a PSL is both. Either way, PSL season is fast approaching. The leaves are changing, warm drinks are on the menu, and the liquid sunshine (rain) is welcomed after such a dry summer. Project Watershed is gearing up for our Fall/Winter sampling.
