Field and Research Assistant | Science Communicator

Virginia’s current role with Project Watershed focuses on field research and volunteer coordination related to forage fish research, field activities, and citizen scientist outreach. Virginia has field experience in terrestrial and aquatic habitat restoration, lake sediment pollen, geological sediment samples, and educational outreach as a Park Interpreter.

Virginia graduated from Laurentian University where she blended studies in geology, biology, and geography. She has a particular interest in geomorphology, aquatic biology, and environmental outreach. This led her to do a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication where she focused on visitor engagement and public outreach messaging around conservation of charismatic species like belugas, orcas, and sea otters.
