Ecofish Research and The Old House Notary Present
The
Dinner
We are very excited to commemorate 30 years of stewardship at our 2023 Keeping It Living Dinner this fall. Please join us at 40 KNOTS Winery on September 9 from 5 pm – 8 pm as we enjoy food, wine and music from the Comox Valley while celebrating ecological restoration and watershed research in our community. Check out our Annual Report page to see all the things we have to celebrate!
To help us celebrate in style, we have partnered with local superstars including 40 KNOTS Winery, the Old House Notary, Ecofish Research LTD, Sylvan Learning, Lush Valley’s Farmer’s Kitchen Food Truck, and musician, Helen Austin. 40 KNOTS Winery is providing us with their enclosed dining area overlooking their vineyard. Every year Brenda Hetman-Craig and Layne Craig, owners of 40 Knots, present us with a cheque from a portion of the sales of Safe Haven wine and we are grateful for their generosity and continued support. We are also grateful for the Old House Notary and Ecofish Research LTD who are sponsoring this event and have supported our work over the years.
We are happy to be working with a like minded non-profit, Lush Valley Food Action Society, to bring a meal to the table that helps support not one but two local community groups. The Farmer’s Kitchen food truck, Lush’s social enterprise, will be sourcing the food and creating the meal for this event. The menu is currently being curated to highlight local delicacies and tantalize tastebuds, it will be posted to this page shortly!
In addition to delectable food and music, we will also hold a reverse 50/50 draw and a silent auction. The silent auction is now up and running online. It will wrap up at the dinner event, giving guests the edge on getting some great local deals! Visit the auction page.
Tickets for the event are $120 per person until August 30, and $140 thereafter. Tickets include a four-course dinner and a paired drink with every course – there will be vegetarian, vegan and non-alcoholic options. We are keeping to a maximum of eight guests to a table, guests will be asked to indicate if they would like to sit with specific attendees when purchasing a ticket.
We are currently accepting additional sponsors. If you are interested in being a part of this event, please email Caila Holbrook.

Chefs
The Farmer's Kitchen
Social Enterprise of Lush Valley Food Action Society
The Farmer’s Kitchen Food Truck is a collaboration with local farmers and chefs to bring creative and vibrant street food to the Comox Valley. We embrace the simple and authentic philosophy of street food vendors around the world and use local produce to create menus that are fun, approachable, delicious, and distinctly of the Comox Valley.
Our mission is to rethink the role of the restaurant in promoting local food security. To accomplish that goal we’ve created a nimble and responsive kitchen that is designed to work with the variations and fluctuations of a small-scale local food system. We strive to transform the bounty of the Comox Valley into menus that tell a story about our community—the crops that grow here and the folks that grow them. Our hope is that local farmers will see their efforts and motivations reflected in the menu and sourcing policies.
