The theme for this Christmas Show is Island Vistas. It will start on Saturday Nov 17th and run until Dec 8th. The theme will be Island Vistas. Twenty percent of all sales will go to support Project Watershed.
Brian is a big supporter of Project Watershed and we appreciate all his contributions. Last year this event brought in $1,000. In 2016, he donated “Estuary Greens”, the image pictured above, to the Keeping It Living Campaign. It became one of our Keeping It Living artworks which donors can choose to receive when the make a donation over $100. (Please note: For a donation of $100 or more a paper print is given and for a donation of $1000 or more a canvas print is given.)
Head on down to Whytes Framing and Gallery at 1225 Lazo Rd in Comox to purchase a painting and support Project Watershed’s work!
On June 29th Project Watershed sent Interfor half a million dollars as the second interim payment for the purchase of the Kus-kus-sum lands. A large portion of the $400,000 awarded by the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program in March went towards this payment, the remainder will be applied to our December payment. Our community target of $100,000 was also a component of the half a million dollar payment – a target we not only met but surpassed! Thanks to the Denton Family gift of $50,000 (read more), the Nomadic Tempest event which brought in $40,000 (read more) and all our other donors we raised $30,000 more than our target. These funds will be applied to our next payment of $100,000 due on December 20th, 2018, putting us at 30% of the way our next community goal. Read more
