James Godwin

Director at Large

James is a landscape architect with a skill set that combines urban planning, ecological restoration, and climate change mitigation/adaptation. He works for an interdisciplinary design firm that specializes in a variety of projects ranging from master plans to mixed-use, park, institutional, First Nations, and commercial applications. A member of both local and international conservation societies, James contributes to environmental causes through volunteer work and community engagement workshops. He has organized and presented at several local conferences with a mission to bring together disparate professions and user groups around important issues.

James has joined the Project Watershed Board of Directors as of 2023, and is looking forward to assisting the growth and continued success of the organization. He brings experience in urban design, strategic/community planning, and ecological restoration.

In his free time, James enjoys gardening, hiking, sailing, and introducing his two young daughters to the wonderful local communities and ecosystems here on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation.
