A few changes have been made to our volunteer program as we work towards streamlining our process. These changes were discussed at the two Volunteer Symposiums we held recently and are posted here for those who couldn’t attend.
Planting at Mallard
Volunteer to help install live willow stakes and plant potted plants in the riparian areas of Mallard Creek on October 14 & 15, 2022, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Willow Stake Harvesting
We need assistance harvesting willows for future live staking at Mallard and Glen Urquhart Creeks.

Spring has been a very busy season; Project Watershed is excited to showcase all the events we orgainsed and participated in! Sixty-six amazing volunteers came out to lend a hand. Thank you to everyone for your time and energy, we could not have done so much without you!
Earth Day 2022 with Project Watershed

Here in the Comox Valley, our local beaches have a story to tell about a small fish that is so much more. Maybe you’ve seen Project Watershed out on local beaches, with measuring tapes and high visibility vests, trying to learn more about this small fish with a big impact!
Surf Smelt Sampling Has Arrived
Summer is almost here and Project Watershed is gearing up for another round of surf smelt sampling on beaches around the Comox Valley.
Earth Week Celebration Summary
Thank you to everyone who participated in and contributed to our Earth Week activities! We had to make some adjustments to keep everyone safe but in the end we were able to show our appreciation for the Earth and have some fun too.
Project Watershed’s Decentralized Shoreline Cleanup
In lieu of doing a group cleanup, we are asking that people do a cleanup with their bubble at a pre-selected beach as part of a Decentralized Cleanup!
